Corrosion-Resistant Coatings

Corrosion-resistant coatings are the backbone at Permacolor. We apply polyester and Super-Polyester for U.V. resistance over Zinc-Rich Epoxy and Fusion-Bonded Epoxy, as well as specialty coatings over these systems. These coatings have high impact and abrasion resistance. We also apply chemically modified polypropylene and polyethylene, which provide high levels of corrosion resistance and significant chemical resistance.

Our exclusinve 3-layer powdercoat system is founded on the best NACE liquid paint specifications. It is written in C.S.I. format for applicators, contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors and attorneys.

  1. Blast to NACE near white, #2 2-3.5 mil profile
  2. Coat with 2-4 mils of H.B. Fuller Zinc-rich epoxy IF 5616 M
  3. Coat with 6-10 mils Fusion-bonded epoxy
  4. Coat with 1-3 mils U.V. stable color coat

Our Adhesion level is significant, over 7000 p.s.i. for the ZRG and the FBE averages 6555 p.s.i. Our Class #1 system on carbon steel with "Newlar" topcoat surrpassed 4000 hours of ASTM B-117 salt-fog test.

We have completed the certification process for NEWLAR on Steel, Galvanize steel and aluminum. This is a new generation of fluropolymers replacing and outperforming KYNAR, based on AMMA 2605.02, with 20 year fade resistance and gloss loss. We are the only company in the Western U.S. with this certification.

Let us evaluate and recommend the proper system for your project. The life of coating, service, and cost will define what system we recommend. We coat wrought-iron to 35' x 11.5', some railing styles can be guaranteed for 10 years.

Gates, 11' x 36', for an estate entrance.
